Tasks

Tasks are the things that the team needs to get done to do amazing work. Teams use a wide range of task management apps out there:
Simple and personal: wunderlist and todoist
Team boards: Trello
Task and project systems: Asana, Wrike, Jira

The common flow of a task is

, with some small variants. What gets a bit tricky is when your tasks aren't generic, which is, almost always. A common task flow breaks down when you're doing things like:
Designing custom assets for clients and going through two stages of revisions.
Writing articles and publishing then across various channels.
Tracking client requests for ongoing improvement on retainer.
Implementation where the data gathering flow is different than the upload process.

This is normally the moment when a team starts using their core task tracking app as more of a resource management tool and begin building out their actual flow in Google Sheets or devolving to good ol' analog with pen and paper and sticky notes on a whiteboard.
