We’re going to use OpenAI / ChatGPT to help us build a shopping list based on recipe URLs.
Step 1: Background
Let’s start with a database, for this example, a database of recipes, each with a name and URL:

Step 2: Select Options from the Database
Here, we have a dropdown list where you can select one or more recipes from the database.

Step 3: Customize the Prompt
Type in the question you’d like to send to ChatGPT. There is a checkbox to Append URLs from your selected recipes to the end of your prompt- this is turned on by default, as the example query is asking ChatGPT to build us a shopping list based off of those URLs!

Step 4: Results
Here are the results. The generated prompt is what was submitted to ChatGPT, and the shopping list is the actual answer given back. Please note that whenever you adjust the prompt, change “Append URLs”, or change the selected recipes in the dropdown, the query will need to be resent. If you have a free trial account with OpenAI, you might not want to go too crazy 🙃
