Workflow

Goal

For a known list of Restaurant and Bar establishments, determine the POS system they use.
Identify influencers within the org as points-of-contact to initiate outreach.

Setup

Structure of Database

Data

Get a list of Brands and the Restaurants they own.
De-duplicate the list as much as possible
For example, Jumeriah group appears several times.
there’s also tricky duplicates, for example Sarood Hospitality is apparently a rebrand of Jumeriah Group.

Per Brand

Use the following prompt to begin the search on :
Give me a list of <BRAND NAME> restaurants in Dubai. Output in table format with the following columns: name, website, linkedin page (if available), job postings, proximity to <POI>
Example:
BRAND NAME: Sarood Hospitality, Gates Hospitality, etc.
POI (Place of Interest): DBX, Dubai Mall, etc.

Per Restaurant

Exploring Job Listings

If available, job listings sometimes mention required skills or software
for example, if they mention a specific POS explicitly that’s great
they might also talk about other skills, like a PMS, which helps to understand the stack within the restaurant.

Exploring People

Search for people who work there
If you were searching for Pai Tai (Sarood Hospitality) you would fill it like this

Search for Skills

Look through the People results, click through and look at the descriptions of their job-experience
search for mention of specific tools they’ve used
Go to their “Skills” section, and look there as well
If they have a resume on their profile, read through that as well

Heuristics

If one restaurant in a brand uses a tool, it’s likely that they all do it
Keep note of related tools. For example the Opera PMS (Property Management System) is by Oracle, increasing the likelihood that they’re using Micros.

Outreach Strategy

Keep track of hiring managers, general managers, and people who generally seem to have a more fleshed out Linkedin Profile
Also keep track of people listing Microsoft Office related skills
Instead of directly pitching the POS, perhaps start with a tool that’s less overhead to roll-out?
assessment: relacing the POS system requires training many servers, and potentially leading to loss of productivity while they learn the new system
on the other hand, solving some niche problem within procurement (say) gets your foot in the door at a Brand level directly.
