Everything you need to win the Packathon's community choice award.

The first-ever Coda Packathon is quickly coming to a close, but the fun isn’t over yet. Starting on August 4th, your friends, family, communities, and network can

vote for your Pack⁠

to win the community choice award.

If your Pack has the most upvotes by the end of the voting period on August 17th, you’ll win $1,000 cash.

How to enter.

Whether you made your first Pack during the Packathon or your tenth, the community choice award is the perfect reason to share what you’ve made with your friends and communities. And you can win $1,000 cash for doing so. Here’s how it works:

Make sure you’ve completed your submission to the

Coda Packathon⁠

Your Pack will automatically be added to the

community choice voting doc⁠

On August 4th, invite your network to try your Pack and vote for you as their favorite.

Don’t forget to include a link and a call to action in your doc to vote for you!

When voting ends on August 17th, the Pack with the most votes will be crowned the Packathon’s community choice winner!

What’s the best way to earn votes?

Here are a few tips we’ve seen work well:

Lead with value: When asking others for support, explain how your Pack impacts your target audience and demonstrate value through your corresponding doc.

Find relevant groups: Locate groups and communities where your target audience may live and ask members to try your Pack. This might be through niche groups on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or different Slack/Discord communities. Check out this

Ask for feedback: Oftentimes, people are more willing to try your product if you ask for feedback. Requesting feedback on your Pack or doc will break the ice. Then follow up by asking for their vote.

Cast a wide net: Branch out beyond friends and families. We’ve seen Packs and docs catch fire when makers post about them in the communities they subscribe to.

What you need to know.

Can only people I know vote for my Pack?

Nope! You can share your Pack far and wide to gain as many votes possible. You don’t need to know everyone who votes for you.

Can I opt-out of the community choice award?

If you do not want to participate in the community choice award, you can opt out by

completing this form.⁠

Can I win multiple prizes?

Yes! Competing in the community choice award does not exclude you or your Pack(s) from winning any of the other prizes.

What is the voting period?

The Packathon submission period ends on August 3rd. On August 4th, the voting period begins for the community choice award and ends on August 17th. The winner will be announced shortly after.
