Approaching SaaS Optimization

Last edited 301 days ago by Jimmy Hallsworth

To maximize SaaS spend optimization, a strategic approach is essential. The process involves assessing your organization's existing SaaS applications and users through SaaS Management, and then establishing a systematic prioritization framework. Instead of attempting a broad overhaul, focus on identifying and prioritizing SaaS solutions using the following methods (which can be used together):
Total Investment Approach: Compile a list featuring the top 5 to 10 costliest applications, arranged by highest total spend. This offers insights into individual cost factors and highlights solutions with significant potential for cost reduction.
Renewal Date Focus: Address high costs stemming from auto-renewed subscriptions that may be unused or underutilized. Concentrate on applications nearing renewal dates, ensuring their utility and pricing tiers are evaluated before committing to another renewal period.
User Count Consideration: Identify applications widely accessible throughout the organization, where a substantial portion of users may not be actively engaged. Uncover instances where licenses are underutilized, unveiling potential waste.
Business Function and Value: Categorize applications based on their impact on business growth and success. Distinguish between essential tools and those that are merely "nice to have." Prioritize apps based on their contribution to business value relative to their cost.
By employing this strategic approach, organizations can effectively streamline their SaaS landscape, optimizing costs while enhancing efficiency and value
