This Week’s Bible Story
Jesus Teaches About Prayer (Luke 11:1-13) One day, Jesus was with his friends and one of them asked, “Lord, how should we pray?” So Jesus started his prayer by praising God! The second thing Jesus prayed for was something he needed — food! The third thing Jesus prayed for was forgiveness. The last thing Jesus prayed for was the courage to obey God and say “No!” to sin.
Check-in + Worship
As kids check in, invite them to join their parents in the Auditorium during worship. Once the worship set ends, wait in the back for kids to join you and lead them back to the Zion Kids area.
Connect
Let each kid answer today’s icebreaker question: What is the #1 thing you’re looking forward to this summer?
Bible Story
Look up Luke 11:1-13 and teach the Bible passage in your own words.
Debrief
Why do we call God’s name “holy”? Why is it important to pray for God’s will (not just our own)? Can you think of a time you had to trust God’s way instead of your own? Prayer Time
Close your small group time by praying with your kids. This week’s prayer focus is on PLEASE PRAYERS. Ask the kids in your group, “Where in your life do you need God’s help?” Take time to pray for each of the things that were shared.
Activity
THIS WEEK’S CRAFT: Pass out the activity pages for the spinner craft. Invite kids to cut out each sheet and color it in. Then show them how to use the fasteners to attach them together.
