This Week’s Bible Story
Daniel was faithful. (Daniel 1) Daniel was faithful to God, and God blessed him. In an even greater way, Jesus was always faithful to God. He came to earth and followed God’s plan to save sinners. Those who trust in Jesus receive God’s forgiveness and blessing.
Play Time + Check-in
Greet kids and families as they arrive. Make connections with kids by getting on their level, playing with them and asking fun questions to get to know them.
Worship Time
Have your kids line up and lead them to worship.
Bible Story
Use the Story Cards provided to tell the Bible story to the kids in your group, pausing along the way to ask questions and get the kids engaged. (Optional: Use the storytelling tips below to make the story more engaging.)
Use counting: Invite kids to listen for numbers in the story and then hold up the corresponding number of fingers when they hear the number. Pass around vegetables: Distribute fake or real vegetables as you tell the story. Be sensitive to any food allergies. Memory Verse
Introduce this month’s memory verse by saying it out loud and showing them the motions. Have the kids practice by repeating after you.
The person (point to someone around you) who trusts in the Lord (point up to the sky) is blessed. (cross your arms like you are hugging yourself) Jeremiah 17:7 (open and close your hands like a book) Prayer
Close your small group time by praying with your kids. This week’s prayer focus will include a PRAYER OF BLESSING. Look up Numbers 6:24-26 and pray it over the kids in your group: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Craft + Snack
Invite the kids to take a seat at the table to work on this week’s craft. Supplies will be provided, as well as an example of the craft. Pass out snacks as kids are working on their craft.
