This Week’s Bible Story
Jesus Heals the Paralyzed Man (Luke 5:17-26) Jesus did not just say that He was God. Jesus showed that He was God. Jesus forgave sins and performed miracles (like healing the man who could not walk). Jesus did things that only God can do. Faith is believing in and trusting something or someone completely. The friends who lowered the paralyzed man through the roof had faith that Jesus could heal. We can have faith in Jesus’ power today, too.
Play Time + Check-in
Greet kids and families as they arrive. Make connections with kids by getting on their level, playing with them and asking fun questions to get to know them.
Worship Time
Have your kids line up and lead them to worship.
Bible Story
Use the the story cards provided to tell this week’s Bible story.
Memory Verse
Introduce this month’s memory verse by saying it out loud and showing them the motions. Have the kids practice by repeating after you.
Nothing is impossible (wave your finger back and forth) with God! (point to the sky) Luke 1:37 (shape your hands like a book) Prayer
Close your small group time by praying with your kids. This week’s prayer focus is on PRAISE PRAYERS. Ask the kids in your group, “What is one thing you love about God?” (You may need to prompt kids with ideas.) Take time to pray for each of the things that were shared.
Craft + Snack
Invite the kids to take a seat at the table to work on this week’s craft. Supplies will be provided, as well as an example of the craft. Pass out snacks as kids are working on their craft.
THIS WEEK’S CRAFT: Hand out the materials to the kids and instruct them how to build their own mat. Have them take the strings and tie them through each of the corner holes of the mat. Then they can decorate their mat and their person cutout.
