This Week’s Bible Story
Jesus Tempted in the Desert (Luke 4:1-13) Jesus went into the wilderness where he fasted for 40 days. The devil knew that Jesus was very hungry, so he tried to tempt him through a series of tests. Each time, Jesus resisted and reminded the devil of what God told us in the Bible. Because everything God says is good and true!

Memory Verse
Introduce this month’s memory verse by saying it out loud and showing them the motions. Have the kids practice by repeating after you.
For we (point to the people around you) are God’s masterpiece. (clap your hands) Ephesians 2:10 (shape your hands like a book) Prayer
Close your small group time by praying with your kids. This week’s prayer focus will include a PRAYER OF BLESSING. Look up Numbers 6:24-26 and pray it over the kids in your group: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Craft + Snack
Invite the kids to take a seat at the table to work on this week’s craft. Supplies will be provided, as well as an example of the craft. Pass out snacks as kids are working on their craft.
THIS WEEK’S CRAFT: Remind kids that the first test that Jesus faced was to turn stones into bread so he could eat. Give each child a smooth stone and encourage them to decorate it with the supplies provided. Share with the kids that their stones can serve as a reminder of how we can resist temptation just like Jesus did.
