This Week’s Bible Story

David and Goliath (1 Samuel 16-17) David was not afraid to face the giant, Goliath, because he knew that God was with him and would help him. With God’s help, David knocked Goliath down, and the Israelites defeated the Philistines.

Greet kids and families as they arrive. Make connections with kids by getting on their level, playing with them and asking fun questions to get to know them.

Close your small group time by praying with your kids. This week’s prayer focus will include a PRAYER OF BLESSING. Look up Numbers 6:24-26 and pray it over the kids in your group: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Invite the kids to take a seat at the table to work on this week’s craft. Supplies will be provided, as well as an example of the craft. Pass out snacks as kids are working on their craft.

CRAFT: Give each child one of the activity sheets and instruct them to cut the paper strip at the bottom of the page. Show them how to slide the strips of paper through the slots in the activity page, and invite them to color it in.
