📋 Summary - WHAT we’re creating
TEMPLATE of one-line summary:
We report the essential news from Austria in simple English and in compressed form. Aimed at students who are doing their semester abroad here and whose German language skills are not yet sufficient for complex local content. We inform and accompany young people with information relevant to them via Instagram, Facebook and TikTok during their time in Austria.
🏋️♂️Motivation - WHY we’re doing this
Personal experiences - we all went on Erasmus and did not find news in english for young people. German not an easy language to learn within 6 - 12 months. And we believe in Europe and it’s possibilities, so we want to support that.
Need help with this? Potential motivations may include:
personal experiences
personal background
professional passions
concern for a community
fame/fortune/power
curiosity
🧑💻Persona - WHO we’re serving
Include a few sentences about someone(s) you’re aiming to serve. This person is either a real person you have in mind, or representative of the people you’re aiming to reach with your product.
Judy is 22 years old. She was born and raised in Denmark and studies Media and Communication at Aarhus University for two years. Her mother tongue is Danish, but she also speaks English very well. Judy loves traveling and enjoys to meet and get to know new people and cultures.
In her 5th semester she decided to do a semester abroad at the University of Vienna. So Judy moves to Vienna and lives there for 6 months. She is interested in the everydays life in Austria and Vienna, wants to party with her friends and get to know the culture better. Judy makes many new friends, some of them are from Vienna, so she asks them endless questions starting about the political culture and ending with where to party this weekend.
Later, when she has to go back to Denmark, she stays in touch with her new friends all over the world and in a way, she also stays in touch with vienna. After living there for so long, she wants to keep up with everything that's happening in her second favorite city.
Later on, you can dive deeper to create a more fully fleshed-out persona. Here’s a helpful resource for that 👇
We are going to have an instagram page and a tiktok page. Link will follow.

🤨 Question — ONE thing we’re exploring...
What partner(s) we need, especially when it comes to financing.
Need help with this? Potential questions might include:
Which customer group to focus on first
Which particular customer need is most pressing
What collaborator or partner(s) I should prioritize
How to validate whether people actually want/need this
Which type of content might be most valuable
💶 Revenue — Money may come from..s.
The potential revenue streams we’re considering include
Cooperations with partners
We are looking to generate money through cooperations with partners, that offer services and products aimed at our commuity. This could for example be a cooperation with a club, where we promote the event and the special offers. Also cooperations with universities or official bodies are part of this plan.
2. Memberships
We want to sell memberships for the duration of 6 or 12 months. With the memberships our community enjoys special offers with our partners (e.g. free entrance for an event, discount on a meal). The cost of the membership should be around 15 to 20€ for 6 months and 25 to 30€ for 12 months.
3. Donations/Crowdfunding
Next to memberships we want to offer our community the chance to support us through donations. This in particularly interesting for people who already left Austria, but still have an emotional connection to the place, want to support our business and keep on reading the news even after the depature.
4. Merchandise
We are going to create bags, shirts, hoodies, mugs and other products with slogans and our logo. This will increase our revenue, improve our customer retention and loyalty and is a good way of marketing without any costs.
5. Press subsidies & governmental ads
On the one hand we are going to apply for press subsidies provided by the state. Moreover, we can generate revenue through governmental ads (e.g. ads from the government promoting the vaccination campaign in Austria)
