Hello!

Starting Minecraft, I figured that I would love an estimate of materials for building a quick starter home. So using Coda I have decided to build the Starter House Calculator. It gives a good estimate as a starting point for the number of materials needed ( based on oak / non bamboo and cobblestone crafting numbers ). It is the nitty-gritty so any additions like a non-flat roof, or any other details would have to be factored in based on your calculations.

Enter the dimensions you would want for your starter house into the calculator. The automated results should give you rough estimate of how many blocks you would need, along with the crafted material and raw material needed.

Remember this is bare-bones as it gets, so consider additional material for any details you want to add to your home!
