Manual Color Management (by plugin and effects)

By pass AE native color management:

Set Project setting, working space: None, 32 bit, Tetrahedral (for AE 2022) (2.4 gamma doesn’t matter when manual management)

Combine Log, Rec709, Linear sRGB (mutlipass) and sRGB footages together in compositing, export as Rec709

For Log footage: Input depends on the footage, output Rec709

For Rec709 footage: don’t need profile convertor

For linear sRGB multipass layer to composite:

In multipass layer, set each passed layer in profile converter as follow:

only tick Linearize at Output profile (to make all EXR passed layers linear, as AE will atuomatically apply gamma adjustment for EXR passed input)

Create adjustment layer on top, (name as CPC view), set color profile convertor as follow:

tick Linearize at Input Profile (to reapply the gamma adjustment AE will apply on passed layers)

For sRGB footage(if EXR file, same reason as mutlipass layers):

Then for both sRGB and SRGB linear pass footage, profile converter set as:

Using effect like Exposure, Lumetric to grade the composite footage
