Da Vinci Resolve:

Color space management

Resolve Color Managment by using DaVinci Wide Gamut (Resolve 17 new function)
Purpose: For matching different camera log/raw settings to a consistent one, so the footages dont’ need to apply LUTs
Project setting→Color Management→DaVinci YRGB color Managed→DaVinci Wide Gamut
At Output color space. depend on where the video expected to be shown (e.g. youtube, choose Rec 709 Gamma 2.4) (7:10-7:40)
Glow effect parameter suggestion: 12:40-13:02

To apply the Color management to particular clips:

Need to set DaVinci Wide Gamuet first
In Media tab (1st one), R click on Clip name, tick Input Color Space → Select the clips → R click → Input Color Space → choose what the footage LUTs should be

Select HDR platte Wheels → Global for exposure adjustment, Tint, Temp, etc

For footages which have different Input color space not included in Resolve system: Choose Custom instead of Davinci Wide Gamuet → tick Use separate color space and gamma between input color space and timeline color space
OR use Transform Effect (good to use when only 1-2 shots needed to be adopted in timeline):
In Color tab, R click on the footage wanted to apply → By Pass Color Management
Go to edit tab , R click → by pass color management
Back to color tab → apply Color Space Transfrom on the node

Change input color space as Rec 709, input gamma as what the footage LUTs should be

Input external downloaded LUTs in Davinci:
Project Settings → Color Management → Lookup Tables → Open LUT folder → Drag the downloaded LUT in the folder locaiton →Update List → save


Set enough color space in Timeline Color Space: DaVinci WG/Intermediate


(Set mode as custom, then choose timeline space that is wider/spatial enough for grading, before deliver/output as Rec709

Tick Use color space aware grading tool: allow all tools below be applied for the color management:

If the color science is only in Davinci YRGB, apply timeline and output color space as follow:
