ACES workflow (Overview)

Do the ACES workflow manually (color science: davinci YRGB, color space: ACEscct) give more freedom to input and out ACEs transform (i.e. not set in Color management page as below)

Use ACEScct as intermeditae (sandwishes) :

When having footages from different camera (especially when having Rec 709 footage)
apply ACES Transform for node 1 and 3
Node 1 (input): input transform: source (here Alexa as e.g.); output transfrom: ACEScct
Node 2 (sandwishes): For grading
Node 3 (Output): input ACEScct; output transform: Rec709

Optimize the setting for best color grading result:

Select all same input color space footage, R click → Add into a New Group (name as Alexa), group other different footage (Rec709, ...)
Extra 2 dots in timeline created: Group pre-clip, group post-clip

Click 1st dot, group pre-clip, name the node as input, apply node 1 setting as above
Click 4th dot, Timeline, create a new serial node (rename as output), apply node 3 setting as above
Add extra node before output node for contrast and/or other effect:

Now all shots should be applied with LUTs and ACES setup (coz they are grouped)

Optional (fix clipping shot):

If having clipping shot (due to strong light as below example(ACEscc will give smaller color gamma on such shot), extra nodes needed
image.png
R click on the clipping shot, add new group, name as Outliner
Go to 2nd dot, Clip (coz only apply on this 1 specific shot) → duplicate the node
→ use dopper to sample the light area → set Lum VS Sat curve rough as below to see the effect
