Fundraising Policies

Donor Drive

Used for all chapter fundraising -
Chapter President will create the team fundraising page —
Share your chapter’s page via QR code at events for direct donations

Venmo

Only chapter presidents may use personal Venmo accounts as needed, following these steps:
Before the fundraiser (48 hrs prior):
Rename account to chapter name*
Update profile pic to IJM logo
Empty Venmo balance
After the fundraiser (within 24 hrs):
Transfer funds to personal bank account and donate to team Donor Drive page
*Exception: If your student organization maintains a bank account through your school, your chapter may use an official student organization Venmo account to fundraise in accordance with your school’s policies. The above policy is for instances where a personal Venmo account is used for a chapter.

Check or Cash Donations

Send donations to:
International Justice Mission P.O. Box 96961 Washington, DC 20090-6961
Include:
University name & chapter
President’s name, email, and school address
Fundraiser title, date, and total raised
Email donation details to:

Other Fundraiser Examples

Examples of fundraisers from other chapters around the country. The best way to have a successful and effective fundraiser is to look at your chapter and see what talents, skills, and interests you have.
Fair Trade Fashion Show: Showcase ethical outfits with a runway and judges
Open Mic Night / Talent Show: Let students perform and share about IJM
Photo Booth or Photoshoot: Charge for time &/or prints and raise awareness
Dessert Decorating Contest: Fun, interactive, and delicious!
Bake Sale: Sell donated treats on campus
Candy Grams: Include fair trade chocolate & a note about purchasing ethical goods
Ice Cream Social: Host a root beer float night with donations
Profit Share: Partner with a local restaurant to receive donations
Coffee Shop Collab: Create a custom drink or merch sale
Sports Tournament: Host bracketed games like spikeball or ping pong
Teach Lessons: Offer paid lessons in skating, sports, instruments, etc.
Game Night: Charge entry for board or online game brackets
Sell Merch: T-shirts, stickers, mugs designed by students
Haircut Challenge: Shave heads or dye hair for donations
Car Wash: Wash cars near campus for donations
Partner with clubs: Co-host events on campus with other groups
Art club: Design merch, paint planters, bring in an art therapy speaker
