Welcome to our central engineering hub! This engineering specific onboarding guide will help you through your first weeks. This page walks you through the onboarding specific roles and the rough onboarding timeline and it ends with a checklist of all the engineering onboarding tasks for your first weeks. When you have worked through this page, you are ready to jump into the first part of basic training which will be checking out our codebase on your dev machine and running make dev.

One more thing - we are a fast moving startup and things change all the time. Some things in the onboarding guide might no longer work, or can be misunderstood, etc. Please help us fix them. Change the document if you are certain something is wrong. Add a comment or talk to your onboarding team if you are not certain.

🤝 Your onboarding team

Manager - Your manager is, well, first of all your manager. They will introduce you to your team. They are also picking your starter project and will give you feedback about your progress.
TL (Tech Lead) - If your manager runs a larger area they will likely have TLs for different projects and will lean on the TL for your starter project and feedback.

The table below lists the typical timeline for onboarding. Every project has different needs and different levels of complexity and every person brings different levels of experience and knowledge. These are rough estimates and for many people the onboarding timelines will be differ - simply make sure your manager and onboarding buddy are in the loop.
