Our Approach

Our approach is an ECLECTIC one that can synthesize and synergize the best theories and practices. When educators can connect emotionally with students and understand their developmental stages, goals, strengths and Achilles heels, we can choose the best pathway for students. We use three main programs, namely Academic Program, Beyond Academic Program and College Success Program, to support K16 students at their different milestones.
In Academic Program, examples that have worked well at Total Education include TPR combined with Active Learning in Junior English classes, eye-opening CLIL combined with Game-based Learning in Academic English classes and effective Task-based Learning combined with Flipped Model in IELTS classes. All filled with lots of fun.
In Beyond Academic Program, we synergize both Experiential Learning and Collaborative Learning while encouraging the fun and sustainability of skill development within students. Effective examples include various concrete group challenges during students’ camp experience and lots of meaningful personal and group reflection activities. We start with summer camps and sustain throughout the years with life skill classes as the extension.
In College Success Program, we help high schoolers start their Ikigai discovery and get ready for college with study skills and critical thinking needed. Furthermore we enhance Problem-based learning & Community Service in which students apply their interdisciplinary ability in design thinking to solve complex real world problems to support communities.
