Level-setting & situation assessment What is the org actually doing right now? (Not what it usually does or what it should be doing, but what’s actually being done by Ronny & others) Stakes if these things are dropped or focus is redirected? Almost everything on pause, and still doing a lot Existential challenge / question: how to move through an administration that’s bringing a different level of violence to our communities and organizations? Weighing in & navigating partner orgs in process of sunsetting; transitioning to non-paid work In the fall: resolved to de-prioritize campaign planning for things like Care & Protect agenda In this moment: it’s all about protecting immigrant communities and following the lead of immigrant-led comrades like present and community organizing alliance Seeing our campaign unfold but not in the ways we’d hoped: community care tactics, mutual aid tactics; should invest more deeply in radical nourishment this year work and mission look different than it did before January work is super coalitional; working a lot w/ Crystal & Presidente movement-building work: set up members and structures for relationship w/ the org; showing up to build relationships w/ folks to set them up to be supported by the center coalition work is also where former Staff used to provide a lot of support taking calls from people who need help; administering care for the ecosystem speaking mostly French this past Where can your capacity be bolstered? Base building & care work Hiring an organizer who can speak French or Portuguese Maest: It feels really weird that I found out about the hotline and verifiers etc. through Presente and am just now finding out smwc has been involved Didn’t know about the conflict Referred people to Presente, agree w following their lead What feels odd: We’re not connected with each other in showing Rachel R: I know SMWC is many members "political home." How do we ensure we don't lose that so we can be best equipped to support coalitional partners? Grace: There is a lot I didnt know/don’t know about or am just finding that I feel are important that the board should have known about months ago feel like we could’ve and should’ve been blowing whistles and helping people for the past few months What work has already been on pause?
