Palette modes determine the type of colors that will be returned when generating a schema.

works well with a range of choices
returns varying shades and tints of a single color

complement:
works best with 2 colors
returns colors directly across from each other in the color wheel (higher contrast)
3
analogic:
works well with a range of choices
returns colors adjacent to each other on the color wheel (lower contrast)
4
analogic-complement:
works best with 3-5 colors
returns one ‘dominant’ color and two colors adjacent to that color’s complement; also called split complementary
5
triad:
works best with 3 colors
returns three colors that are equidistant on the color wheel
6
quad:
works best with 4 colors
returns four colors that are equidistant on the color wheel
