TeamLab
Tokyo
It's a crazy huge warehouse of projections and interactive light things. The queue was long, but really felt worth it just a very different experience.
Disney TokyoSea
Tokyo
Really depends if you have any interest in Disney / Amusement parks. But we had a great time doing Disneysea for a day. It's clearly a Disney park, but it was different to all the other ones I've been to.
Shinjuku Golden Gai
Tokyo
Lots of tiny tiny bars (like 3 people size) great fun for a drink.
Tsukiji Market walking tour and sushi class
Tokyo
Was fun to go around the market and learn about Japanese market food and then learn how to make a few japanese sushi dishes
View from Tokyo City Hall
Tokyo
Was amazing to see how big Tokyo is and on a clear day you can see Mt Fuji
Akihabara
Tokyo
It's the nerdiest nerd part of Tokyo. Which was mostly interesting because of how weird it is...lots of cringey stuff as well though. I liked the game where I had to flip tables or jump on the crazy dance mats.
Nijo-jo Castle
Kyoto
Just a beautiful garden and learnt a lot about Japense history
Fushimi Inari-taisha
Kyoto
If you've ever seen the pictures of endless Japanese red gates this is where it's from. We didn't do the whole walk because its LONG. But was v impressive
Katsura Imperial Villa
Kyoto
This was the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Think we had to book in advance or get some sort of permit, but it was just crazy pretty and tranquil.
Camellia flower tea ceremony
Kyoto
We booked a tea ceremony which was just lovely
