About TMDD & Summits

The Transatlantic Migrant Democracy Dialogue (TMDD) is a network that trains and connects immigrant and refugee leaders in the US and Europe.
We operate as network where leaders can support each other by sharing resources and skills, using the platform of established organisations to bring their cause forward.
The partnership involves the Migration Policy Group, National Partnership for New Americans and the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America, in coordination with the German Federal Network of Migrant Organisations, the Greek Refugee Forum, Immigrant Council of Ireland, Migrants Organise UK, Anti-Racist Forum (Finland).

So far, TMDD has organised three Democracy Summits in Europe: Hamburg (2017), Dublin (2018) and Athens (2019) for dozens of migrant and refugee leaders, bringing together 140 members that are committed to building an organised movement by migrants and allies for migrant justice.

This year, due to the current circumstances, TMDD’s Democracy Summit will be kicking off online!

Goals

With our mission to strengthen democracies by collectively building powerful movements and communities across Europe and the US, the annual Democracy Summits aim to:
Connect migrant organisers and leaders across the Atlantic to share good practices, learn from each other and grow together.
Strengthen our network so we can join forces and create joint actions.
