I heard the Lord say, "In this hour of famine, let my Word be thy food."
Friends, we are living in the days of the spiritual famine foretold by the Prophet Amos. In America, there are bibles on every shelf and churches on every corner. But there are very few who truly "hear" the Word of the Lord.
So what does it mean to "hear" the Word of the Lord?
To hear the word of the Lord is more than simply to read its text. Or to listen to it spoken. To "hear" the Word of the Lord is to perceive the Father's Presence within it, and to understand what He is saying in real time.
It is possible to read the Word of the Lord, but not "hear" it. The Pharisees read the Word of the Lord but they did not perceive its true meaning. In fact, they missed the very Messiah for which the word prophesied as He walked before them!
To "hear" the Word of the Lord is to understand what God the Father is saying to His church in 2024 corporately, and what He is saying to you personally.
So pause for a moment and ask Him this, "Father what are you saying to your church? And what are you saying to me? And become silent before Him and give him ample opportunity to speak. He will.
(Pause in His Presence)
Friends, when Yeshua walked the earth, the Word of God was written on Torah scrolls, and read weekly in the synagogues.
But God in His wisdom sent His own Son to become a walking, living, breathing Torah scroll! He was truly the Word of God made flesh who dwelt among us!
But there is a wonderful mystery here. Yeshua was the Firstborn among MANY brothers and sisters. He was a prophetic picture of what God intended all His children to become. We were called to likewise become "walking, living, breathing Torah scrolls!"
Beloved, God did not send us Bibles simply to add another book to our shelves. He gave us Bibles so that we would become the Word!
This is our destiny!
So how then do we become the Word in a world that has divorced itself from the Words Author?
The answer is simple, we make it our single aim to consume the Word day and night.
As we consume "the bread of life" we will be transformed into its image. And we will be able to say with Messiah, "I have food that you know nothing about."
Friend, the hour is late. The world is feeding itself upon poisonous food which is rotting the hearts and minds of the people. But you and I have been offered to dine at the table with the King. And here we have been given "spiritual food" which has the power to nourish us amidst even the most severe of famines.
Hippocrates, the famous Greek Physician, often called the "Father of Medicine", once famously stated, "Let thy food be thy medicine."
Its time for us to modify our diets. Its time for us to consume the word as our food. Every jot and every tittle. We must let this Word be our medicine.
The people of the world are sick and dying. The Father grieves over the spiritual starvation of His people. He weeps as he watches the decay of their bodies and souls. But He is a God of great mercy and He has a plan.
You and I are the plan.
The enemy could destroy every Bible on planet earth, but he still loses because its words have now been written on human hearts and minds. Amen!
And now he says to us, just as He once did to Peter, "Do you love me? Feed my Sheep."
