With the session being hybrid, there are still some expectations to be mindful of while in
the office.
General Expectations:
You are expected to give 100% during your scheduled hours.
While we understand that everyone has personal lives outside of the office, please keep
anything not related to your work to a minimum while you’re scheduled to be available
virtually.
Hours: Once you have finalized your schedule with your mentor(s), it’s your
responsibility to be actively checking email and working on projects during those times.
If you finish your projects before your hours are up, you should still stay close to email in
case something else comes up that a mentor needs help with.
Confidentiality:You will be signing a confidentiality agreement prior to starting. Extremely sensitive material is dealt with on a daily basis, so always remember the agreement you signed and what that entails. We often deal with sensitive materials that should not be discussed outside of the work place under ANY circumstances.
Communication:We believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of a
successful and enriching internship experience. Clear and transparent communication is
essential for understanding expectations, navigating projects, and fostering a positive
work environment. Regular check-ins, team meetings, and open channels for questions
and feedback will be integral to your learning experience. We encourage proactive
engagement and collaboration to ensure you gain valuable insights.
Social Media: It is unacceptable to use social media to portray life at / or in the Firebird office.
Generic posts about your internship that might be otherwise public knowledge are okay,
but posts regarding specific office tasks or interactions with artists’ and our Portfolio companies will not be tolerated. You may come across confidential information and it should not be shared on social media or elsewhere.
Questions:Do NOT be afraid to ask your mentor questions, but always take initiative first.
Daily Tasks & Expectations: Any projects from your mentor/team are to take priority. You’re welcome to work on tasks sent by the Intern Administrators, if applicable, but please work with your mentor/team as first priority. Before you leave for the day let your mentor know where you are with a project. Check your email and respond to in a timely manner during working hours. Send back confirmation emails
when asked to.
Dress code:While we encourage individuality, please be mindful that when in office, this is a
professional setting. Ensure your personal style choices align with the overall office
culture. Dress appropriately for your role and responsibilities. Personal comfort is
important, but it should not compromise a professional setting. Recognize that the dress
code may vary across departments. Be adaptable and considerate of the expectations
within your specific team.
