Find things to do or utilize downtime to learn about the company and the artists we represent. Ask questions! This is your chance to meet and work with some of the most experienced individuals in music and they are open to mentoring and contributing to your internship experience so please take advantage of this to learn more.
Schedule a standing 1:1 with your mentors - Whether it be daily or weekly, schedule a standing meeting with your mentor and work with them to create an agenda of projects and/or questions to help streamline the meeting
Daily/Weekly Recaps - get into the habit of creating a running task list with updates to help organize your workstream and better communicate with your mentor. You can always send an email or a Slack to keep your mentor updated. Ask what your mentors’ preference is in regards to this.
Ask for help.
If you are asked to do something and do not know how to complete it, ask your mentors or take the initiative and search it on Google. If still needing further guidance, reach out to your Internship Administrators.
Tech Related Assistance - Ask your mentor to submit an inquiry to Valiant for you
The internship program is a wonderful program for all incoming interns, but also note to think about what is required rather than just executing. We want you to learn as much as you can in the program and that isn’t just about execution of projects.
Be trustworthy, helpful, and nice.
That’s self-explanatory!
Get to know your fellow interns.
These are people who have similar career interests and can be resources and helpful contacts down the road. We will do our best to provide space to meet and hang with your fellow interns, but we ask for you to proactively do your part and get to know each other especially when sharing space in the office.
Immerse yourself.
Really take the time to dive into the company head first. Read up on Firebird, ask questions, learn more about our portfolio companies etc. So many ways to learn more about the company and our portcos, in addition to learning why some of the tasks assigned greatly impact the company as a whole. No task too big or too small goes unnoticed here at Firebird.
Have a good time!
This is a great opportunity to learn a lot and meet an amazing group of professionals. We are always open to feedback and we are excited to work hard and play hard!
To request time off.
