I’m writing to convey my support for the goal to protect 30% of our waters and ocean by 2030, also known as 30x30 (pronounced ‘30 by 30’), and to urge you to do everything in your power to make it a reality. The ocean is one of themost prominent sources of life on our planet, and our future depends on our ability to protect this vital resource. As humans, we rely on the ocean for so much ー the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the sense of joy, wonder, and peace it brings during trying times. And now, the ocean is depending on us to halt and reverse the climate, biodiversity, and ecological crises that it faces.
