Requirements before installation
A dedicated phone number with country and area code (short codes are not supported) that is able to receive voice calls or SMS. The phone number must not be associated with any other WhatsApp account. If users had a WhatsApp Messenger or WA Lite account, they should to use the number for the WhatsApp Business Platform. If your number was connected to another WhatsApp Business Platform provider (including other Kommo integrations), users should migrate it or delete it manually from the provider and Meta before the connection. A paid Kommo account (Base, Advanced, or Enterprise plan) or be within 14 days of an active trial. A Personal Facebook profile. In order to connect the number to WACA user also needs to have a FB Business portfolio and WA Business account (WABA), both of them can be created either in advance or during the connection process.
How to integrate WACA in Kommo using a new phone number
Navigate to: Settings > Integrations > search for WhatsApp Cloud API or, additionally, Chats > Settings > Channels. Agree with the privacy policy and click on Install. Before starting the connection process, the user will be asked about the phone number they are using. Click No, i never used it with WhatsApp at all > Next.
Click Continue with Facebook to start the connection process. This will launch Meta number connection modals. Log in to their Facebook account. On the Connect your account to Kommo screen, click the Get started to start connection.
Complete Fill in your business information section, choose and existing Meta business account or create a new one and click Next.
Create or select your WhatsApp Business Account and Profile: choose existing WhatsApp Business Account and WhatsApp Profile or choose an option to create a new one and click Next.
Create a WhatsApp Business profile: fill in all necessary fields and click the Next.
Add a phone number for WhatsApp: fill in a phone number, choose the verification method and click the Next.
Verify your phone number: fill in a verification code and click on Next.
The user will be redirected back to Kommo to complete the setup. The number will appear in the selector. Click the Connect this number in order to connect the number to the integration.
The number will appear in the table.
In order to be able to start conversations (to send message templates), after finishing the number connection users need to set up the payment method for the WhatsApp account associated with Kommo in Meta Business Suite. with instrustions how to set payment method. In the WhatsApp Cloud API widget when asked have you used the number before, click Yes, with Kommo WhatsApp integration > Next.
And then they’ll be asked which Kommo integration they used. Choose WhatsApp Lite > Next.
In the step "What application do you use?" you need to select WhatsApp App and then click Next.
After that, click Continue with Facebook and follow the instructions to connect like in previous case.
For previous WhatsApp Lite users, their chat histories, leads, and other important data will be stored in Kommo.
How to connect numbers previously used in regular WhatsApp
Go to the WhatsApp Cloud API widget and when asked have you used the number before, click Yes, on my phone using the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app > Next.
In the step "What application do you use?" you need to select WhatsApp App and then click Next.
After that, click Continue with Facebook and follow the instructions to connect.
How to connect to WACA from another provider outside Kommo
If you're migrating from a different provider, please note that any templates, automations, bots, or history from your previous provider will not be transferred automatically. You'll need to reconfigure these elements within Kommo, including creating and submitting templates to Meta for approval.
If users want to reconnect from another Kommo WA integration, except WA lite, they need to migrate the number. Learn more about number migration process you can read in the section Migration the number.
How to connect to WACA from Kommo WhatsApp Business Platform integration
Kommo offers 2 options where users can connect a phone number to WACA that was previously used in other Kommo WhatsApp integrations:

For the first option, Kommo offers a source merging option that allows users to transfer their data from the previous integration to WACA.
If users want to reconnect from another Kommo WA integration, except WA lite, they need to migrate the number.
How to add payment method
Choose Billing & payments.
In the Accounts section choose tab and press Add payment method button for the account you need.
How to reconnect to WACA
If you logged out from WhatsApp Cloud API or deleted the number from Kommo integration, follow these steps to reconnect the number to WhatsApp Cloud API.
Manually delete the phone number associated with your account in the Meta WhatsApp Manager settings. Go to the WhatsApp Cloud API widget and when asked have you used the number before, click Yes, with Kommo WhatsApp integration > Next.
You’ll be asked which Kommo integration did you use. Choose WhatsApp Cloud API > Next.
After that, click Continue with Facebook and follow the instructions to connect.
