How to play the 6 Nimmt game for idiotschildren Idiot children
The game requires the game-specific 6 Nimmt cards which are numbered from 1 to 104 and each card have a unique number and all cards have bullheads on them, varying from 1 to 7 bullheads. These are important because the goal of the game at the end is to get the least amount of bullheads, sounds fun right?
Game procedure
Preparation
Shuffle well (Important) and distribute 10 cards to each player from the main deck. We can play from 2 players to 10 !
The players must receive these cards with face down and must not reveal them.
After distributing, take 4 random cards from the main deck and place them on the middle of the table turned face up. Making 4 different rows.
The goal is to avoid or getting the least number of bullheads (which are printed on the top) in your deck of cards.
Gameplay
Players simultaneously choose a card from their personal deck and place them on the table with face down.
Once everyone has placed their cards faced down on the table, everyone must flip their cards together, revealing their card.
The player with the lowest number on the card must play first, then the second lowest, then the third lowest etc, up to the highest.
Placement rules
Cards should be placed in ascending order in rows on the table. For example if one of the categories on the table has a 54 on it, cards having numbers greater than 54 can be placed in this deck, Example 71 or 93.
Now there might come a situation where we can place our card in 2 or more categories. So how to choose the correct one?
While placing the cards the difference between your card and the last card in that category should be minimal. For example if 2 of rows have the first cards 85 and 70 respectively, and we were to place 90, it’ll go under 85 as the difference between them is lesser (5) as compared to with 70 (20).
The maximum amount of cards a row can contain is 5.
The player playing the 6th card must take the already played 5 cards of the row and then put the 6th card as the first card of the empty row.
The cards collected from the table should be kept in a separate deck.
If the player’s card is lower than all 4 table cards, he can take the row he wants, and send it to his separate deck. His card will then be the new row single card.
Scores
The Total number of bullheads shown on the cards in this separate deck is the score of the player.
The player with the lowest score is the winner of the round.
The round continues until all cards are played.
When a round ends, we note everyone’s points, and start a new round.
The first player to end a round with a total score above or equal to 66 bullheads loses.
Rules
In the deck there are:
1 card with 7 cattle heads—number 55
8 cards with 5 cattle heads—multiples of 11 (except 55): 11, 22, 33, 44, 66, 77, 88, 99
10 cards with 3 cattle heads—multiples of ten: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100
9 cards with 2 cattle heads—multiples of five that are not multiples of ten (except 55): 5, 15, 25, 35, 45, 65, 75, 85, 95
76 cards with 1 cattle head—the rest of the cards from 1 through 104
Scenario
Story: The "6 Nimmt!" Bullhead Game
A group of kids found a card game called "6 Nimmt!" The cards were numbered 1 to 104, each with bullheads (little cow icons). The goal of the game? To collect as few bullheads as possible because too many bullheads mean you lose.
Setting Up
1. Shuffle all the cards well.
2. Each player gets 10 cards, kept secret from others.
3. Place four random cards face-up in the middle of the table. These start four rows where cards will be added.
4. Remember: bullheads are bad, so try not to collect them!
How to Play Each Round
1. Pick a Card: Each player picks a card from their hand and places it face-down on the table.
2. Reveal Cards: Everyone flips their chosen card at the same time.
3. Play Order: The player with the lowest number card plays first, then the next lowest, and so on.
Placing Cards in Rows
- Ascending Order: Cards go in rows in ascending order. If a row ends in 54, a card higher than 54 can go there.
- Smallest Difference: If a card could go in more than one row, it must go to the row where the difference with the last card is the smallest. For example, if rows end in 85 and 70, a card with 90 goes under 85 (the difference is 5, smaller than 20 with 70).
- Max 5 Cards Per Row: If a player places the 6th card in a row, they must take all 5 cards already there into their "bullhead pile." Their card starts the row again.
- Lowest Card: If a player’s card is lower than all rows, they must choose a row, take those cards into their bullhead pile, and place their card as the new first card in that row.
Scoring Bullheads
1. After each round, players count the bullheads in their bullhead pile. This number is their score.
2. The player with the fewest bullheads wins the round.
3. The game continues, with scores adding up after each round.
4. The game ends when a player reaches 66 bullheads. That player loses, and the player with the lowest score wins.
Bullhead Breakdown
- Card #55 has 7 bullheads.
- Multiples of 11 (except 55) have 5 bullheads.
- Multiples of 10 have 3 bullheads.
- Multiples of 5 (but not 10) have 2 bullheads.
- All other cards have 1 bullhead.
And that’s it! The kids play "6 Nimmt!" trying to avoid bullheads and end with the lowest score.
