What Will Software Look Like Once Anyone Can Create It?
A former YouTube executive recalls people being mystified on why he joined a company best known as a platform for badly-produced cat videos. He foresaw a time when YouTube would disrupt online video, the way cable TV disrupted broadcast TV. That’s largely happened–and now he believes that the same thing will happen in software, as new tools give everyday people the ability to customize their own software, instead of relying on mass-produced, off-the-shelf solutions.
