Statement
I am passionate about creating more equitable and accessible opportunities for non-profits to build their digital capabilities and confidence. More broadly I am keen to contribute to the design and implementation of approaches and mechanisms which move away from traditional funding within the civil society space and focus on supporting communities and people to more sustainably create social services
Scope of involvement
I am a white, middle class woman educated to Masters degree level. Personally I don’t think I will bring adequate diversity to the Catalyst Stewardship group in the long term. My interest is in supporting Catalyst to create space and opportunities for different voices, I feel this will require me to step aside as a Steward at the appropriate time.
Furthermore I currently do not live in the UK, although I am a UK citizen. At times this can be an advantage as I have a different perspective to UK public policy and civil society, at the same time I’m conscious that I am not living day to day within UK civil society - therefore there may come a time where my geographic location affects my suitability for the Catalyst steward role.
Potential Conflicts
At times Catalyst releases briefs which are a good match for the skills and capabilities of DOT PROJECT - we may respond to these briefs.
Other members of DOT PROJECT are actively involved and funded by aspects of Catalyst - for example the Tech for Good UK initiative.
DOT PROJECT predominantly delivers work in partnership - many of those partnership relationships are held by myself.
Management of Conflicts
Raise this to Stewards when working on a brief and withdraw from any discussions related to funding decisions in relation to those briefs.
This does not necessarily pose a Conflict of Interest but it feels important that other Stewards, and Catalyst organisations know about this involvement.
Current partnerships/engagements of note are:
Ongoing work with Shift on Beyond initiative
Involvement in Collaborative Futures Internship scheme
Ongoing partnership with CharityDigital on digital strategy training - currently funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund
