About the Workcamp

Egyesek Youth Association organizes this volunteer program together with (MigAid) in their Learning Without Borders (LWB) project and in the Madridi Street Refugee Shelter.
The Madridi shelter is currently the largest transit refugee shelter in Hungary. Since it opened in March 2022, more than 100,000 guest nights have been spent here by refugees from Ukraine. Most of them stay only a few nights before travelling on to their intended final destination, but many stay for weeks while waiting for visas outside Europe.
The main goal of the LWB project since April 2022 is to create the possibility for children to spend their days in a safe community as soon as possible after fleeing the war zone. Within the framework of the institution, they can participate in emotional, social, and integration programs, while we provide the opportunity to continue their studies and learn the Hungarian language.

School of Solidarity 2024 is a 16-day ESC volunteering team project:

We invite you to join us and be part of the extraordinary School of Solidarity international voluntary camp (ESC Volunteering Teams) of Egyesek together with 7 international and Hungarian local young people! By participating you will be a creator of a wonderfully diverse community who live and work together all along the 16 days of the camp. During the activities you will get chance to contribute to our mission: grant meaningful times and programmes for children who have been forced to flee Ukraine.
