📝 TO DO LIST BEFORE THE PROJECT BEGINS

1. Accept the ESC offer on the European Youth Portal 🤝🏼

To apply to a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project you have to register in the . Here’s a step by step guide:
Register for ESC (Get your PRN)
Sign up in the ESC database using EU Login - To make this easier, we recommend downloading the EU Login mobile application: ​
After registering, you’ll get your PRN number by email

Send us your PRN
2. Apply for a project
Choose up to 3 projects and put it in your “Backpack”
Rank them by priority (1 = favorite)
Fill in your application and submit
❗ Skip any payment step (ESC is free)
3. Wait for response
We send your application to the hosting organization
They reply in 3–4 days
If rejected, your application goes to your next choice
4. Accept the offer
If accepted, you’ll get an offer in the ESC system
You must accept it to confirm your place

2. Health Insurance 🩺

Apply for
(if you are from the EU/EEA or Switzerland) → Get your European Health Insurance Card from your national provider → It lets you access public healthcare in Hungary, often for free or at a low cost
Check your email for Henner insurance → You will automatically receive extra insurance from Henner (ESC coverage) → Save your insurance number
Use EHIC first whenever possible. If something is not covered: • You may need to pay upfront • Then ask Henner for reimbursement
‼️Important‼️ → Always keep receipts and documents → Read the Henner guide to know what is covered
Make sure you read the Henner brochure to understand your insurance plan in details.

3. Pre-departure Preparation 🧮

Have a pre-departure training with your sending organization
Prepare yourself on the iPrepare platform, an interactive tool designed to better understand the European Solidarity Corps and how to contribute the most to the local community

4. Organize your travels ✈️

Book your tickets
Read the carefully!
Participants are responsible for buying their own travel tickets on time, within the project dates
Keep your tickets, both online and on paper, to receive the reimbursement!

5. Important documents 🧾

You will receive a Volunteering Agreement via e-mail
It is the contractual agreement between you and Egyesek, and it contains all the details about the project, including the rights and obligations of all those involved.
