Szécsény is a small town in Nógrád county, located in Northern Hungary, near the Slovakian border. The recorded population of the town is around 5937 inhabitants.

There is a local bus station from where the bigger towns nearby (Balassagyarmat and Salgótarján) can be reached in 30 minutes, and Budapest in 2 hours. For most of the activity places you will need between 10 to 40 minutes of a bus ride.
