E-commerce data is messy. We’re looking for someone who can help us curate and clean it up to create an amazing e-commerce experience.
In this role, you’ll work with our internal tools, our website, and various e-commerce websites to label new products, organize them, and make sure the existing ones are up to date.
You’ll be expected to gain some basic developer, machine learning, and computer vision knowledge to understand how clean data helps our search engine (don’t worry if you don’t already have these skills, we’ll teach you!)
As an early team member, you’ll help us shape:
Our product (not just its implementation, but its direction)
Our company culture
Our data practices
People we hire
Let’s be honest: pretty much everything
You may enjoy working with us if:
You’re energized, not daunted, by the prospect of finding, labeling, and curating hundreds of thousands of e-commerce products.
You want to have a substantial and lasting impact on a high-growth, seed-funded startup.
You’re comfortable learning the basics of web development, to work with our labeling tools.
You love working in contexts with little supervision.
You enjoy putting yourself in the shoes of online shoppers to craft a world-class experience.
Members of the team today:
Are deeply motivated by Deft’s long-term vision (not just better e-commerce search, but “parsing the web”), and are driven to do whatever it takes to achieve it.
Value clear, frequent communication and feedback.
Work to be supportive, especially when teammates are faced with new challenges.
Strive for precise thought and are detail-oriented. We balance accuracy with speed.
Some things you’ll be responsible for:
Making sure all of our listings are accurate and up-to-date.
Labeling data to ensure it can be ingested by our machine learning models.
Finding cool new e-commerce shops across home decor, furniture, electronics, and apparel.
High school diploma or evidence of exceptional ability.
High attention to detail and focus on quality.
History of teamwork and willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
Proven track record of reliability and taking the initiative.
