Bot Templates

What is a bot template?

The Plena platform is the most powerful bot building tool known to mankind. It provides a extensive array of features to build robots that automate complex workflows. In order to build robust bots that work with any system and run in any environment, Plena has designed a unique framework for developers. Using the aforementioned framework any trained developer can build bots to meet his/her specifications.
Learning the ever-growing features Plena platform can be overwhelming. Therefore, we encourage our partners to take advantage of templates. A ‘template’ is simply a stubbed-out bot file that encapsulates features and systems you’re interested in utilizing. For example you can start with a bot-template that is designed to read a PDF document and enter that information into QuickBooks. Then take this template and tweak functions to perform a variety of workflows, for example, processing AP invoices (PDF format) and entering that data into QuickBooks.
A template is usually comprised of two system. Most workflows that require automation typically involve and “input system” and an “output system. It’s not uncommon to have both systems be the same. For example bank reconciliation robot: read transactions on QuickBooks and compare amounts on the same screen, then click on on the check boxes next to each transaction.
