Definition of AI

Definition
Artificial Intelligence is the man-made intelligence, its aim is to do whatever humans (or lower-intelligence animals) do.

History

Old AI
Symbolic AI: Human-defined logics and lots of if-else, for example IBM Deep Blue was running on symbolic AI.

Modern AI
Statistical AI: Human-defined logics and models trained on statistical data, for example, neural networks run on statistical data.

AI Solution
In all sections of this book, the term ‘neural network’ or ‘neuralnet’ refer to ‘artificial neural network (ANN)’, not the biological one. An AI solution may apply multiple ML models to solve the whole problem.
