Research-orientated PhD, with just a small handful of generic taught courses.
Three years full-time, with one extra writing-up year if necessary; or five years part-time, with two extra writing up years if necessary. Most supervision is done electronically, and you can live anywhere in the UK. However, we can no longer take students living overseas, unless they are willing to come to the UK for their studies.

A good Undergraduate or Masters degree. However, writing a high quality research proposal is the most important thing.
a 80,000 - 100,000 word thesis, making an original contribution to knowledge, and 60 credits of taught courses.
Writing for publication, research methods, systems thinking, critical analysis.
Many go into academic roles, but some have had policy or diplomatic careers. A few have gone into industry.
