John is founder and CEO of Intelluron, an emerging AI-based solutions company. Previously, John led data science and strategy at Digital Reasoning Systems, a Nashville-based AI company backed by Goldman Sachs, In-Q-Tel, and HCA that was acquired in 2020. Prior to that, he held senior executive roles including founder of the Portfolio Solutions Group at Citigroup Global Markets, Director of Public Equities at the Indiana Public Employees Retirement Fund, Managing Director of Equity Strategies at the Vanderbilt University Endowment, and Head of Index Options Trading at BNP Paribas. He began his career in the fixed income analyst program at Credit Suisse First Boston. He is a published author on topics including deep learning for NLP and speech recognition, explainable AI, representation learning, asset allocation, systemic risk, and EM theory. John was named Nashville's Data Scientist of the Year in 2016, Finalist for Community Leader of the Year in 2018, and Finalist for Innovator of the Year in 2020. He earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA Charterholder.
