We have previously committed to pay $450 per evaluation on average, which includes base compensation, small and large incentives, as well as prizes. The Unjournal team reviews the quality of evaluations from time to time and considers high-quality work for some of these incentives.
For incentives larger than $100, we contact and pay the evaluators directly. For smaller incentives below $100, we run a draw to reduce the administrative costs.
First, we announce the date and time for our draw. Then, using sequence generator, we enter all eligible evaluations and generate a random sequence of them. If there are 10 or fewer evaluations eligible to enter the draw, we select the first two. We then publish a time-stamped random sequence of evaluations, as well as announce winners across our social media.
We award the actual amounts based on the following formula: the amount the randomly drawn evaluation was awarded multiplied by the number of evaluations in the draw and divided by the total number of winners of the draw.
For example, if there are 7 evaluators in a draw and we want to select 2 random winners, and the two evaluations chosen randomly were originally assigned $100 and $80, the actual awarded amount would be:
Winner 1: ($100*7)/2 = $350
Winner 2: ($80*7)/2 = $280
Small Incentives: August 12, 2025 Draw
There are 7 evaluations eligible for this draw:
