Foundational Participation Covenant

Unifying Source Agreement

Preamble

By entering into this agreement, participants voluntarily affirm their intention to engage in the governance and stewardship processes of the Book of Life. Participation within the institution entails both rights and obligations. Through this covenant, participants acknowledge the institutional purpose, accept the authority structure defined in the Constitution, and commit to exercising governance participation with reciprocity, responsibility, and respect for shared stewardship.
This agreement functions as a participation attestation required for membership activation and governance eligibility.

Article I — Institutional Alignment

Participants affirm that they have reviewed and accept the institutional foundations of the Book of Life, including:
The Cultural Orientation and declared mission scope
The binding authority and governance structure defined in the Constitution
The stewardship commitments and conduct standards governing participation
Participants agree to exercise governance participation in alignment with these institutional foundations.

Article II — Participation Commitments

Participation within the institution entails:
Respect for constitutional governance processes
Engagement in deliberation and decision-making where applicable
Responsible exercise of authority within defined mandates
Contribution consistent with role scope and stewardship obligations
Participation rights are conditional upon adherence to constitutional and operational rules.

Article III — Stewardship Conduct

Participants agree to:
Act in good faith within governance processes
Preserve and responsibly steward shared resources
Maintain transparency in actions taken under institutional authority
Resolve conflicts through defined dispute resolution mechanisms
Actions that extract shared value without reciprocal contribution or that circumvent ratified governance processes constitute breach of stewardship.

Article IV — Acceptance of Governance Authority

By affirming this agreement, participants acknowledge:
The binding authority of the Constitution
The legitimacy of defined governance processes and decision outcomes
The authority of institutional review, enforcement, and dispute resolution procedures
Participants accept that governance rights may be suspended or revoked under constitutionally defined enforcement procedures.

Article V — Review and Amendment

This covenant may be updated or revised in alignment with constitutional amendment procedures. Any revision must remain consistent with the authority structure and stewardship commitments defined within the institutional framework.

Ratification

By affirming this agreement, participants acknowledge:
Voluntary entry into institutional governance
Acceptance of constitutional authority and governance processes
Commitment to reciprocal stewardship and responsible participation
Completion of this attestation activates eligibility for participation within the governance processes of the Book of Life.
