Keywords
Use these to update the text, titles, metas, etc. and boost high-intent, mid-to-bottom funnel keywords. There were 250+ keywords in total, but the sample below are the highest ranking.
Internal Linking
A comprehensive internal linking audit would highlight opportunities for creating stronger silos around product types (VPNs, antivirus, ad-blockers, etc.)

Content Quality, Comprehension, Relevance/Intent
1. Add a summary chart
Although the page content includes evaluation criteria, it is hard to tell how each ad blocker ranks against these criteria. Consider including a summary chart (similar to the Consumer Reports) that displays the criteria and how each ad blocker measures up.
2. Replace the “Conclusion” heading
To keep readers engaged until the end, swap the “Conclusion” heading for something more interesting or intriguing.
For example, restate the main point: “Put an end to annoying ads for good!” Or, help the reader take action through a CTA-type heading (which will also support conversions) – e.g. “Get the best Ad Blocker for your Android.”
Revise the FAQs
I understand why the article includes an ad blocker FAQ. However, consider replacing the questions with ones that align more with search intent.
When someone googles “best ad blockers,” they are in the consideration/decision stage.
Because of this, the following FAQs don’t make sense.
Why do you need an ad blocker?” Do ad blockers work on Android? The reader already knows what an ad blocker is and is convinced they need one. That’s why they’re googling to find the best one.
Replacing these FAQs with those that address potential buying objections and/or convince them why they might need an ad blocker/VPN combination would be more relevant and helpful.
For example, some potential questions might include:
What should you look for in an ad blocker for Android? Should an ad blocker be combined with a VPN? How should you choose the best ad blocker for your Android Should you choose a free or paid Android ad blocker? 4. Replace contradictory content under “How to install an ad blocker on Android”
Some content on the page feels contradictory. For example, this piece recommends the best ad blockers. However, in the section under “How to install an ad blocker on Android '', the content talks about VPNs that include ad blockers and recommends other technologies. This is confusing and removes the focus from the featured ad blockers.
5. Consider ranking for additional long tail keywords
To potentially rank for more long tail keywords, consider adding the words “free and paid” into your H1, title tag, and other relevant H2s and content (e.g. Best Free and Paid Ad-Blockers for Android).
If there are other relevant ad blockers that should be included in this list, consider adding these as well. However, personally, I like how you’ve kept the list concise, as sometimes these pieces can be more overwhelming than helpful.
6. Check ad blocker spelling
I noticed most companies spell “ad blocker” without a hyphen, and common online dictionaries do the same thing. Consider removing the hyphen between “ad” and “blocker” in your content.
7. Add additional relevant keywords
Consider optimizing your page further by inserting additional relevant keywords where they make sense in your content. Some potential keywords include:
Ad-free browsing experience Clean browsing experience Chrome’s ad-blocking capabilities 8. Remove irrelevant ads and links
The page is about the best ad blockers for Android. However, the ad at the top right of the page features Surfshark, which is not even mentioned within the content. This doesn’t make sense and decreases the credibility of the page. Similarly, the link underneath the ads mentions reviewing VPNs, which is not the page's focus. This is confusing and takes attention away from this content.
9. Optimize one image for the primary keyword
To optimize the page further and help content show up in image searches, consider adding one image that targets the primary keyword.

Include testing information and add more details to reviews
Although the content includes evaluation criteria, it does not explain how the ad blockers were tested. This information is important for demonstrating that the testing was done methodically and systematically to provide an objective point of view. You may also want to indicate why you chose to limit your recommendations to five ad blockers.
Once you have these criteria, you can ensure each product is reviewed against it and specific, relevant details are included in each section. This will provide more structure to the piece and make it easier for readers to follow.
Add reader testimonials and reviews
To help prove the site is a trustworthy source, add reader testimonials on key pages, including the Home page, About page, and Contact Us page, as well as other relevant pages throughout the site.
Add relevant stats
To prove the ad blockers do what they say they can do (and help encourage a purchase), consider adding stats for each tool (if available) that prove their effectiveness (e.g. Total Adblock eliminates 99% of ads – note: I made up this example).
Add more internal links from relevant content
To help boost the authority of this page, consider linking to this page from other internal, relevant content pieces. Some potential pages include:
What is an Ad-Blocker, and Should You Be Using One? 5 Best Google Chrome Adblock Extensions for Free in 2024 5 Best Ad Blockers in 2024 | Browser addons & desktop apps Conversion Rate Optimization
Include a more relevant CTA and/or increase the clarity between the current CTA and the content
The “Privacy Warning” section threw me off. I think this is meant to be a CTA. However, it is a bit confusing because it appears under the conclusion in the same colors.
One option might be to create a clearer connection to the content (e.g. Instead of using the words “Privacy Warning,” a headline like “Combine your ad blocker with a VPN for increased security” might make more sense).
Another option would be to change the color of this section to make it look like a CTA. In this case, I think it would still help to clarify the connection to the content. Otherwise, this is a hard sell because the article is focused on the importance of ad blockers, not VPNs., so there is a disconnect.
Alternatively, if the goal of the content is to get users to click on the affiliate links, then I would eliminate this CTA to keep the focus on those products.
Ditch the recommended reading
Most of the articles under the “Recommended Reading'' heading are not directly related to this content. Additionally, this section competes with your CTA, which draws users away from this content. Since this page targets someone in consideration/decision-making mode, the goal is to get them to convert rather than draw them towards other content. Removing this distraction will help keep users focused on taking the action you want, which I believe is purchasing an ad blocker.
Change the position of table of contents
The right-hand sidebar is an unexpected spot to place a TOC, particularly when there are ads above it. For this reason, it is easy for users to miss and does not aid in navigation. Consider placing it directly underneath the heading or on the left-hand side to make it more visible and usable.
