What are we doing
Have you heard of the Cupid Shuffle? Surely you’ve done the Macarena. Doesn’t matter – you’re in for a treat! We would like to bring the new wave of social dance – queer line dancing – to Amsterdam. STOMP is a concept born from the legacy of queer dance spaces and the LGBTQ cowboy culture in America. We follow the wave of collectives like Stud Country (Los Angeles) and Buck Wild (New York), who teach classic line dance choreographies while mixing in new genre pop songs. And that’s what we intend to do – create an approachable atmosphere where anyone can learn a dance and join a diverse crowd dancing in unison.
In essence: we will start the event with a 1 hour workshop, teaching 2 easy dances. These dances will be the foundation of the next hour – a party where each song matches to the dances the crowd just learned. Every few songs or so, we will introduce a few classic and new dances that
