Mr. Abu Bakar Mohd Nor is the Chairman of M Kapital Holdings, Fin (S.E) Asia, Forward Energy Greentech, Global Ambassador, Forward Energy Resources and VIZZIO Technologies. He is also board member for Workstation (Co-Sharing Office), HEXA Renewable, BDx Holdings and BDx Asia Data Centre; focusing on energy, digital technologies and consultancy having business across South-East Asia, China, and Middle East. He is appointed Global Investment Ambassador by Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Heng Qin, China.
At National level, Mr. Bakar is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Institute of Technology University (SIT), board member for Singapore’s National Water Agency the Public Utilities Board(PUB),Singapore’s Public Transport company (SMRTCorporation Ltd), Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). He is also a Board Member of Malaysia-Singapore Railway Transport Operations (RTSO) and Meranti Power a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Market Authority Singapore (EMA).
At industry level, he is President of Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMCCI), Chairman of Workplace Safety Health Council (WSHC), Chairman of Citizens Consultative Community (CCC) for Tampines Central under the People’s Association, Advisory member of Pro- Enterprise Panel (PEP) under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industries (MTI), council member of Singapore Business Federation (SBF), member of Maritime Industry Advisory Committee (MIAC) for Singapore Polytechnic, member of Education Trust Fund (ETF) committee of Yayasan Mendaki, Member of Multi-Agency Workplace Safety and Health Taskforce (MAST), Ministry of Manpower, advisor of Roofing Association Singapore (RAS). He was appointed deputy chair for Waste Management Facility Expert Advisory Panel (EAP) for National Environment Agency (NEA). Recently he is appointed member for Digital First Advisory Group (DFAG) by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and WMS Protem Committee by MUIS.
Mr. Bakar also serves in various capacities in the Ministry of Defence. He is a Senior Officer Mentor, Member of the Employer and Business for the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD).
He was awarded Singapore’s Commendation Medal (Military) in 2002, the Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat) in 2009, and the Public Administration Medal Bronze (Military) in 2015. In October 2017, received the Berita Harian (Singapore Press Holdings) Achiever of the Year Award. In 2022, he received the Friends of Labor award from National Trade Union Congress NTUC and the Public Service Star (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat) during the National Day Award. He also appointed Justice of the Peace by President of Singapore in 2023.
