Creating Rubric Quicklinks

To generate a link to be used in the “Assignment Expectations” template, you must first create a Quicklink in D2L. To do so, follow the instructions below.
Go to the “Start Here” module in the course.
Click “Upload/Create,” then “Create a File.”

Select “Rubrics,” then search for your existing rubric.
Select the appropriate rubric. It will appear as a link on the page.
Click “Save and Close.” This will establish the quicklink in the course. If you do not click “Save,” the quicklink will not be created correctly. This is very important.
Open the file back up and select “Edit HTML” from the dropdown menu.

Click the three dots along the top menu to show more options, and select the icon that shows HTML code.

Once the source code is shown on the page, you will be able to see the quicklink within the <a href=””> container. Copy everything within the container. In this case, the link would be:
/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou=1006741&amp;type=rubric&amp;rCode=CCIS-3715214

Click “Save.”
Click “Save and Close.”
Open your HTML file and paste this quicklink in the space you have added the link.
Once all rubrics have been linked, delete the “Rubric Quicklinks” topic from the module.

Click “Remove the topic from Content but keep the associated file or activity in the course.” Then click “Delete.” This will allow you to keep the HTML file in the file structure. If you need to add more quicklinks or access that link again, you simply add it back into a module.
