MUSI 120: Music and the Human Experience was a gold-level undergraduate course with custom multimedia, third-party software, a scaffolded creative project, and a proctored exam. It provides sample language for wording assignment expectations, weekly assignment descriptions, third-party software, proctoring, and much more. It is on the heavier side in terms of rigor, particularly for a 100-level course, which is why discussions only require one initial post and one response, as opposed to the typical two responses each week. EDUC 569: Data-Based Decision-Making for Instruction was a silver-level graduate course with no custom multimedia. It provides a good example of the rigor required of our graduate courses and also contains numerous associated Department Assessments. CCG Course Sample
HUMS 340: Working with Families was an undergraduate CCG course. CCG courses are used for Columbia College Global and are hybrid, with regular in-person meetings as well as online components. Sample course map language and development documents are available.
Connect Courseware Sample
ACCT 280: Accounting I (Financial) was a silver-level undergraduate graduate course with third-party software through McGraw Hill Connect. Students take complete practice homework and quizzes, as well as graded homework and quizzes, through Connect. It does not include the accompanying planners and communications, but is a great resource for seeing how Courseware is set up, including tutorials. It includes robust lectures and discussion prompts. Publisher PowerPoints are also embedded in the lectures.
Groups Tool Course Sample
MGMT 479: Strategic Management was a silver-level undergraduate graduate course that uses the group tool within D2L to randomly assign student assignments and to place them into groups for an assignment. It does not include the accompanying planners and communications, but is a great resource for seeing how the groups tool works. It also includes Quizlet study resources.
Bongo Course Sample
COMM 360W: Oral Interpretation of Literature was a silver-level undergraduate course that uses Bongo for student videos. Students are to do oral interpretations of specific pieces, then upload their videos to Bongo. It also uses the peer review within Bongo to critique each other’s work. It does not include the accompanying planners and communications, but is a great resource for seeing how video assignments can work using this tool. This course also has custom video performances provided by the developer in the lectures in Weeks 4, 6, and 7.
