Not for me, my 2024 is not over yet, but it’s the last working day for my colleagues in many different countries before they enjoy their longest seasonal holidays during Christmas and New Year.
So why do I see it’s interesting? Because I can see it in a clearer way while observing my friends on their last working day. I can see many more smiles and laughs in the meetings, the similar ones that we have throughout the year. I can see people send out more appreciation to others and accept their mistakes more easily, and the most interesting part is that they have more creative ideas.
What makes the difference? It’s still that same team, same members, the same topic, and the same challenges. Is it because of the emotions us is better? Or is it because we don’t want to bring more trouble and headaches to our vacations? Or it can just be simply because of the holiday mood so we want to see more on the bright side, even with me while telling this story.
I don’t have my answer yet, but if you ask me to, I’ll put my guess on the mental reason. When we’re happy and looking for something great, we rarely see the dark side. It’s something like the feeling when we fall in love, right? But my opening question would be, how can we create more times like this? If we can make it happen, that would be amazing and surely boost our productivity, right?

A last working day in 2024
