On-Call Responsibilities

During scheduled shifts, mobile devs are expected to prioritize on call work over any feature work. Make sure to communicate your schedule to your PM/team so that everyone is on the same page!
General Tasks
Each Monday morning, the leaving and incoming on-call engineers should touch base on any outstanding issues.
Prioritize bug fixes (see App Releases section below for more detail).
App Releases
Work with product to determine if any point releases or hot fixes are needed when critical issues arise.
For non-critical production bugs, coordinate these fixes for the next release.
App Feedback Triage
Investigate all app feedback not handled by the CX team (app bugs, features/account not functioning properly).
Make sure to follow up on email thread (with CX) when you find a resolution and/or have an estimate on the fix.
Outside Business Hours and Days Off
Check app feedback email and crashes.
Respond to any app feedback immediately if:
Users are prevented from checking out.
There is a spike in crashes.
Multiple users report the same issue.
Reach out to #war-room or alert via PagerDuty if you don't get a response from #mobile in a timely manner about a critical issue.
