I hope you all had a good and safe week, and that you got chance to enjoy the lovely weather, although people haven’t been around in the office, everything is progressing well, we had a Board of Trustees meeting yesterday where we agreed and signed the annual report.
Over the last few weeks I have been in discussions on a new partnership with a large UK based international charity which supports disabled people, hopefully, next week, I can reveal all the details but we are working on providing a new Book Club Service to them.
We have started making progress with getting our book collection on the Dolphin EasyReader App. Hopefully, we will have some good news on that in a couple of weeks.
I would like to welcome Nila, who stared with us last week. As she can’t meet you in person, here is a brief intro:
Hi Everyone,

I’m Nila James, and I joined Calibre last Wednesday as Head of Fundraising. I am very excited about working with you all and supporting my team. I aim to grow our fundraising income and increase our supporters by offering them new ways to get involved. In the immediate term, I will be talking to many of you to get a good understanding of what you do and how fundraising can help.

I have over 20 years of fundraising experience gained by working at RNIB, Cancer Research UK, Sense, The Peace Hospice, British Veterinary Animal Health Trust and most recently Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. I’m always keen to learn and improve so if you have any suggestions, perhaps ideas from a charity you support, I’d love to hear from you.

I live in Watford with my husband, two daughters, a Labrador dog and 2 guinea pigs. In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog in the countryside, running, cooking and seeing friends and family. During the COVID-19 lockdown I have been enjoying gardening and created a patch for wildlife including a pond, but I am also eating a lot more chocolate and binge-watching Netflix!

I look forward to getting to know you,

Have a great weekend,
