Email campaign results

2 Email campaigns were delivered this year to Calliope-Interpreters email lists.
The first in mid June which was sent to the 6 main language lists and the second in mid December which was sent to all members with customised segments/lists. A total of 23 email campaigns were sent in 6 languages.
We saw 96 visits to the site coming from clicks in the 2 email campaigns. The (17) Christmas newsletters generated 43 clicks and the June newsletter resulted in 38 clicks. The engagement rate (the number of email opens) for both campaigns was quite similar at 26.65% and 26.93%.
The email list size grew by 263 users in 2021. The actual successful deliveries increased by 249.

For comparison I thought I’d look at the data from the 1st email campaign for which we have data in Mailchimp. As it happens this was from 7 years ago.

Since Dec 2014 the list has grown by 1635 emails or 403%. Successful deliveries (the number of emails that actually landed in an email inbox) grew by 425% over this time.
I think it would be good to continue to focus on building the email list as this is a valuable resource. I can look at setting up tracking of how many users are signing up to the email list on the website. And I think it would be useful to think about how to improve the engagement rate. Maybe adding more interactivity to the emails and or working on a design refresh.
One idea I have is to offer a prize for users who respond to a short survey. The survey could query users about what they’d be interested in seeing in terms of changes to the website, or what email content they’d be interested in.
