A department or a department profile is essentially a more generalized opening that can be referred and applied to just like job posts. They provide a less restricted way for a user to refer talent while also giving the recruitment team/organization a better context for where the candidate may fit within the organization.

This term is necessary because candidates can apply to openings without being referred. As a result, neither referral nor application fully covers the scope of what an opportunity can be.

AKA a company or employer. We use the term organization because technically an organization can be something other than a company and/or an employer.

Internal referral
AKA an employee referral - a referral that is sent by someone who is a member of the organization they are referring to.

A referral that is sent by someone who is not a member of the organization they are referring to.

Direct referral
A referral sent to someone via the referral form where either a department or job has been selected from the opportunity field. A direct referral is a specific opportunity sent to a specific person.

Primary referral provider
AKA “PRP”; the referral provider that is being credited for a referral and will receive the referral reward.
